The Sophisticated Dog provides fully-insured pet care services to the Sarnia, Ontario area. Private dog walking, dog training, food and water drop-ins—we’ve got you covered!

We believe that pet care services should be affordable and provided by qualified professionals.  Can just about anyone who loves dogs pop by once in awhile to put some food in the dish? Of course. But are they reliable enough to show up consistently and on short notice when you’re in a jam? We are!  And what if something goes wrong, are they covered by insurance?  We are!

We believe the pet care industry should be about more than just animal lovers.  A love of pets does not always translate into professional responsibility. We are part of an important movement that asks pet owners to take a closer look at those who are taking care of your dog while you are away.  We don’t just love dogs and have years of experience having our own—we’re dog smart!  Tracy L. Wood is a modern, fear-free dog trainer with a decade of professional training experience and is academically educated in animal behaviour.  We are qualified and experienced to know exactly how to keep your dog happy, engaged and stress-free while under our care.

Currently, The Sophisticated Dog serves an area covering Mooretown to Lake Huron, including Corunna, Point Edward and Brights Grove, and the St. Clair River to Blackwell Side Rd—and all places in between!

When it comes to dogs and pet care, experience isn’t always enough, education matters too.  A professional isn’t a true professional unless they have both experience and education, this includes the pet care industry and dog walkers.
